A Speedy Transformation

I've been asked a few times how I level up so quickly after a transformation. I'm not really sure what the answer is, because I just do what I find most logical, and what feeds my competitive nature. But, I'll try to put together a guide to help you level up like I do. It may seem that the key is to focus on one thing, but I think the exact opposite is true. Upon transforming, I focus on a number of different aspects of the game - buildings, crops, mana, gold, strategy, portal islands, Djinni, achievements, you name it. I'll walk through my thought process and my strategy in blazing through the levels. Using this strategy, I generally get to level 30 within a week. After this time, it does seem to slow a bit, especially with the new strategy which I'm attempting this transformation. Without further ado...

The setup for a quick transformation happens when you're nearly to level 100 (or just before you decide you're going to transform). I've read some strategy for preparing for transformation, and I'm not sure it's all necessary. I'm not 100% clear on how the Miragic works, but am nearly certain that everything you lose due to transforming will give you Miragic. Everything is worth something, from the extra mana to the extra gold to the levels of your buildings. Keep in mind that, after you reach level 100, much of this Miragic building ceases, and you're not doing yourself any favors. I tend to a few items prior to transformation, mostly as a courtesy to my neighbors.

1. Spend your mana down. You can't take it with you, but you can set yourself, and your neighbors, up for future XP boosts. Go nuts sending gifts. I'm sure certain people like certain gifts, and you can send what you like, but I like to send stuff that Emma likes (the little old lady in the valley map). This includes the flamingos, the golden statues, and the red crooked conifers. Send these in bunches, and don't forget to send yourself some, too. Feel free to have some fun with your mana, too. You'll have worked hard to get your mana to the levels you have, so you should have fun. Jinx people, prank their houses, whatever you want.

2. Get rid of your crops. Again, you can't take these with you. However, like everything else (just about), you will get mana for whatever you have when you transform. However, the number one thing about crops is that they can all be worth gold, many of them are easily delayed. And, what's better, you can help your neighbors in doing this, too. With the exception of one crop, and three or four others, there are two ways to get rid of your crops. First is to pump them into any lingering competitions your village has going. No need to start any new ones, unless the second option is no good, just add to the ones your neighbors have started. This, combined with a timely transformation, will give you a stockpile of cash (gold) shortly after transformation. The other way to do this is to sell your crops to the village trader. Sell everything you can't enter into competitions here - EXCEPT your Miramitsu and any plant you get from the island. If you want to "reserve" some Miramitsu, use the market, and sell to a friend, so you can buy back after transformation. You will receive some (based on what transformation you're on) after transforming, so you will not be without. Any plants and seeds from your Portal Islands will be returned to you after transforming - once you reach the required levels. You do not need to, or want to, sell these items.

3. Do not collect your mushrooms. Leave these for after transformation, they're more valuable to you there.

4. Finish your Djinni task if you want/need to. This will reset upon transforming.

This is really all you need to do prior to transformation. Just make sure that you are not in any dragon races prior to preparing, or you won't be able to transform. Now comes the fun part - the actual transformation. The transformation really isn't much of anything, just a part of the game which helps with progression. I'll touch on some of the Dream World boosts you can get a little later. The key, I think, to the speedy transformation is having a few rubies, preferably having a miner so you can have renewable rubies. If you can't get the rubies, these steps will need to be slightly modified.

5. First thing, plant your carrots, get them moving. They're not a power crop, but they move quickly, and with the right boosts, you'll level up sure enough. One you collect green mushrooms, plant the Optic Mush. These will help with your mana. In the meantime...

6. Get your buildings started. While you're online, keep them upgrading as fast as possible. Upgrade the shortest requirements first. This will help you get to the highest levels. Do NOT buy your starter pack yet. Remember, the most important buildings early on are the Magic Circle (mana production) and Dragon Lair (speedier vaporizing). But, you can't forget about your Store House, either. This dictates how many green mushrooms you can collect, and how many crops you can grow. This is the main place where having that Gold Membership comes in the most handy. Keep these buildings moving, and don't forget the Lab, either. Refer to my blog on Mana Hoarding for the importance of this.

7. Pay attention to Djinni. Make his request your goal. Fit his request in with your schedule, do the Optic Mush around that, or the Miramitsu, or special seasonal plants. Whatever is going to get you XP, Mana, or Miragic. These should be your off time goals. Completing Djinni tasks will aide you in progressing through the game, follow his guidance as closely as possible.

8. Along with Djinni, pay attention to your Portal Island tasks. Many of these won't be growing tasks, but pay attention to these, and they'll "force" you to earn XP otherwise.

9. Do not, I repeat do NOT, use the Vaporize Level 1 until you've vaporized all of the other spots in your garden. This will save you upwards of 800,000 mana. Again, refer to my blog on Mana Hoarding for guidelines on this.

10. Don't trade dragon food for mana until you've upgraded your dragon all the way. Even then, I don't make this trade. But, that's my own personal preference.

That's really about it. No magic tricks. Just playing the game to your schedule. The more time you're willing to dedicate to the game, the faster you'll progress. If you're able/willing to use rubies, you can expedite that, too.
